Why Did I Choose HONOS For My Company’s Name?

The name Honos means ‘honor’ which for me is a value that goes hand in hand with integrity. As a Finance leader, integrity must be at the core of our values. We are entrusted with business confidential information, such as employee’s data, pricing strategies, customers proprietary information, etc.

With over 25 years of experience in the corporate world, I have seen some remarkable professionals that carry themselves with the same value of integrity, confidentiality, and trust. I have also seen few examples where confidential data is talked about in hallway conversations breaking the integrity of our professions.

In leadership programs at General Electric, we were taught to consider the “Newspaper front page test” meaning if our actions were to land us in the front page of a newspaper, would it be a message that honored our name or would it disgrace it? This test has guided me and kept me holding integrity as a non-compromised value in my career. This value is at the center of Honos and as well as its founders.
